Welcome to Engage Speech Language Services!
Engage Speech Language Services is a private practice providing individualized stuttering therapy for children, teens, and adults in North Carolina and Massachusetts. We partner with clients, caregivers, and families to reduce communication barriers and help our clients communicate with greater confidence and freedom. All therapy services are provided virtually, making specialized stuttering support accessible from the comfort and convenience of home. Services are available in both English and Haitian Creole.

Pediatric Stuttering
We take a holistic, individualized approach to stuttering that focuses on helping children become confident communicators—not just more fluent speakers. Therapy helps children understand stuttering, build confidence, reduce avoidance and struggle, and develop the skills to communicate authentically in the situations that matter most.

Adult Stuttering
Stuttering can impact communication at any stage of life, but it doesn't have to define how you participate in the world. Therapy is tailored to your individual goals, whether that's speaking up in meetings, making phone calls, or feeling more comfortable in everyday conversations. Together, we'll work to reduce avoidance, build confidence, and support more authentic, meaningful communication. It's never too late to start.

Meet Your Therapist

Milca Bellegarde, M.A., CCC-SLP
Milca is a licensed bilingual speech-language pathologist specializing in stuttering therapy for children, teens, and adults. Fluent in Haitian Creole and English, she is passionate about helping people communicate with greater confidence while honoring each person's unique communication style.

After earning her master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Milca completed additional training in evidence-based, stuttering-affirming approaches, including Avoidance Reduction Therapy for Stuttering (ARTS®). Her approach helps clients reduce the fear and avoidance associated with stuttering while supporting authentic, meaningful communication.

Milca has experience providing speech-language services in schools, home health, and private practice, as well as serving children and families in Haiti, Belize, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. These experiences have shaped her commitment to culturally responsive, collaborative care that respects each person's unique needs and experiences.

Milca believes therapy is not about achieving perfect fluency—it's about helping people communicate more freely, participate fully in the conversations and experiences that matter to them, and build confidence in their own voices.

Outside of work, Milca enjoys exploring local festivals and outdoor activities, trying new recipes, and sewing.
